STORMWATER MAINTENANCE

In accordance with NJ Stormwater Best Management Practices Manual Chapter 8, regular and thorough maintenance is necessary for stormwater management measures to perform effectively and reliably. Failure to perform such maintenance can lead to diminished performance, deterioration, and failure, in addition to a range of health and safety problems including mosquito breeding, animals, and the potential for drowning.

BMP provides an annual subscription service to conduct and retain periodic inspections of stormwater management measures throughout a given year to ensure adequate performance. This proactive approach helps identify concerns early so small-scale corrective maintenance can be performed. If left unaddressed, these deteriorated conditions can lead to large-scale remediation projects which have much greater construction costs.

For failed stormwater basins not regularly inspected, BMP can compile a comprehensive plan to bring the structures back into conformance. This includes land surveying, soil testing, engineering, soil erosion applications, and coordination with contractors.
